Pinar Gönül and Lukas Bucher have been running their joint architectural practice in Lucerne since 2007. Their buildings are located in neighborhoods and villages in places that have already been structurally formed. They are a reflection of an intensive investigation of what is already there.

The two architects create spaces for living, they formulate an architecture that is restrained and at the same time very explicit. Their buildings - like foundation stones - set decisive spatial and urban impulses.

Appropriateness of means, frugality without being stingy - this restraint gives the buildings an amazing naturalness and accessibility.

The presence of the facades and spaces is due to the careful use of materials. Wood, plaster, stone or metal: the liveliness of the materials makes the houses tangible. Pinar Gönül and Lukas Bucher's buildings are thought through in terms of urban planning, spatiality and materials. They never stand for themselves, but seek dialogue. In the respective surroundings, in the respective ensemble, their qualities become all the more apparent.
