rk studio Sàrl (Monthey)

rk Studio Bienne and Monthey were founded in 2011 after winning various competitions. The office works on a variety of scales, from home renovation to public projects and large-scale urban planning. Another area of rk studio's work is the installations created by designer Florian Hauswirth and architect Katia Ritz, RITZWIRTH, which enable them to experiment with new textures and spaces, at different scales and speeds. They base their work on context and environment. They take characteristic elements from the places they occupy and transform them into generally monumental forms that reveal sounds or images that are a priori discreet and hidden.

Ritz Katia, Architect ETH SIA diploma After internships with Mann & Capua Mann in Lausanne, Diener & Diener and Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, Katia Ritz completed her architectural studies at ETHZ in 2002. From 2002 to 2006, she worked for Reto Zimmermann, Diener & Diener and Buchner & Bründler in Basel. In 2007, she went freelance, working simultaneously until 2010 for Professor Jean-Paul Jaccaud, then for Professor Dieter Dietz at epfl. In 2008, she joined the foundation of the Association des Artistes de l'Imprimerie in Lausanne. After a stay in York, she returned to Switzerland and founded rk studio sàrl in Biel and Monthey in 2011.

Katia Ritz was an assistant in 2007 at the Lamu studio for Professor Jean-Paul Jaccaud, then from 2007 to 2010 at the Alice studio for Professor Dieter Dietz. Atelier Alice's great freedom in the conception and perception of spaces led her to participate in the realization of three installations, in London, Venice and Zermatt in Valais, with second-year architecture students from epfl and the Atelier Alice team. She thanks them for their energy and these unique experiences.
