PIETRO BOSCHETTI STUDIO D'ARCHITETTURA SAGL (Lugano)

Pietro Boschetti was born in 1947 in Vezio, a small town in Alto Malcantone in the Swiss foothills of the Alps. From 1967 to 1970, he trained as a construction draughtsman in the studio of architect Tita Carloni in Lugano. In 1971 he opened a studio in Lamone where, in collaboration with his brother Fonso, he started an independent professional activity. In 1980 he was registered in the Federal Register of Architects (REG A), which was followed by the opening of his own architectural practice based in Lugano. After a long journey as a self-taught architect, Boschetti's creative personality made its way spontaneously, leading him in 1994 to admission to FAS, Federation of Swiss Architects. Not bound by the limits of regulatory training, but clearly linked to Ticino and its masters, his architecture preserves, of the Ticino context, the close relationship with the place. The wall, a recurring theme, becomes the common thread of the projects; the search for a radical minimalism lets this element shine through as the only limit of the consequently introverted space. The expression of the material, the reduction to its true essence, testifies to a great trust in construction. Boschetti's production, documented by important national and international journals, alternates between punctual interventions in the villages of Malcantone and projects of wider scope.
