As a trained architect and skilled carpenter, we know that the most important thing about a house is its protective roof. Under our common company umbrella, hûs, architecture and craftsmanship are united from planning to realization around the conversion of historic residential buildings in the Alpine region.

Traditionally, the architect plans a conversion and, as part of the tendering process, looks for craftsmen and contractors on site to carry out the work. Particularly in the case of the conversion of historic residential buildings, the difficulty often lies in finding suitable craftsmen in the remote mountain regions who have the necessary specialist knowledge and sensitivity in dealing with the historic building fabric. Last but not least, trustworthy and competent on-site construction management is needed to ensure the high design quality of the final surfaces. After all, conversions of historic residential buildings cannot be planned down to the last detail; much has to be decided on site and then implemented. Such an approach places high demands on cost calculation and cost control.

At hûs, considerations of craftsmanship and execution in the person of co-owner Stefan Höhn flow into the project early in the planning phase. The combination of architecture and craftsmanship under the hûs roof increases planning and cost security for the client. Finally, the client's wishes and needs can be checked for feasibility at an early stage of the project.
