"What exactly is the difference between building and architecture?"

A question that we always try to answer in our construction work, down to the smallest detail. Our architectural intention is the desire to transform an elementary or complex building task into architecture.

Before a building object is completed as a real building, many people have to work on it in different phases.

This starts with the working group in our architectural office. It is our intention to inspire all employees, from the apprentice to the experienced specialist, for our building tasks and the essence of our architecture. The holistic thinking of all employees enables the learner to learn from the architect and the architect to learn from the learner.

We like to refer to Vitruvius, a rich Roman, who summarized the architectural knowledge of that time in three demands:

firmitas = The strength = a building must be built correctly

utilitas = usefulness = a building must be useful and pleasant for the users

venustas = the beauty = a building must be well proportioned in its parts and as a whole.

To these three requirements we add two more:

situs = the location = a building must be integrated into the natural or man-made environment in such a way as to enhance the existing spatial conditions.

argentum = the money = the client's financial and economic requirements must include the stated requirements firmitas, utilitas, venustas and situs. These five requirements are the philosophy in our architectural practice and the answer to the question "Where exactly is the difference between building and architecture?"
