Briccola Roberto (Giubiasco)

roberto briccola Roberto Briccola was born in Giubiasco, Switzerland, in 1959. In 1984 he graduated in architecture from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. Since 1986 he has been the owner of an architectural firm in Giubiasco and since then has built single-family houses and public buildings. Since 1991, with architect Luigi Snozzi, he has been a member of the Monte Carasso Special Master Plan Commission. In 1993 he exhibited his projects at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid. In 2000 he was awarded the Reiners Foundation Special Prize in Hamburg for the minimalist house in Campo Vallemaggia. Since 2006 he has taught design at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio. In 2011 he was awarded the first prize of the Order of Architects and Engineers of the Canton of Ticino (OTIA) for his university research activities aimed at the redevelopment of suburbs. His work has been published in national and international journals. He has lectured in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Spain.
