In the era of architecture as skin, architecture as image, image-market, architecture as visual art, as image production, as communication;

but also

of the architect-creator, the architect-artist, the archistar, of the delegation of decisions and responsibilities to the builder, the marketing specialist or whoever;

we propose:

To act for an architecture that is ethical, for aesthetics without ethics is nothing but the ruin of architecture (J. Moussafir).

To consider the architect's work as a continuous research since, as Heidegger states, in architecture making is knowing;

to privilege the Idea, understood as the foundation of the logical procedure of the project and the process for the structuring and materialization of form, vis-à-vis the para-logical and empirical one of the formation of the image, an entity that is in any case evanescent, indeterminate and immaterial;

to confront at every step with history, since every operational decision involves a historical judgment about previous events, which justify the operation to be carried out today, and every historical judgment, carries implicitly an orientation that must be enforced in the practical field;

to reinstate and restore dignity to concepts such as place, space, tectonics, and construction, in the absence of which architecture is not such;

to restore to architecture techne, that is, the quality of craftsmanship that involves the integration of form and technique, since for us even the design of a skirting board is research;

of making energy conservation and respect for the natural world an a priori and indispensable corollary and not a marketing argument for its own sake;

to consider aspects such as cost control and construction time as indispensable premises for the architect's work and, as such, ethical.

This is the philosophy that has marked the work of our firm for the past forty years; we regard experience as an added value and not as something for old men; nevertheless, we continually seek the new and the alternative, but without claiming and asserting that they are by definition better.

Operating of the sense of the famous definition of W. Morris, according to which every change introduced by man on the earth's surface is architecture, we engage in all areas of professional activity, from small to large projects, in designing to new as well as in the renovation of existing and restoration of historic buildings, but also in such collateral activities as construction management, representation of the client, and execution of technical and construction law reports.
