CBA Architekten AG ETH SIA (Zürich)

The architectural firm Camenzind Bosshard commences its activities in 2007. The firm was founded as a result of the successful competition entry for the conversion and renovation of the Letzi school complex in Zurich, which was included in the inventory. The project lays the foundation for the further development of the young office of Michael Bosshard and Andreas Camenzind: It is the respectful further construction and careful conversion of existing buildings, often in the context of monument preservation, that is particularly close to the architects' hearts.

Andreas Camenzind is leaving the company at the end of 2020 to pursue a new direction. Anne-Sophie Weisshuhn and Giordano Frison joined the management team in 2021, and in 2024 Bosshard, Weisshuhn and Frison founded CBA Architekten AG. With premises in Kreis 3, the office is located in the heart of Zurich.

People are at the center of CBA Architekten's work: The planning and realization is geared towards the needs of the users, with careful consideration of the existing building. The social and spatial context serves as a guide and inspiration for new ideas. CBA Architekten attaches great importance to "the big picture" without neglecting attention to detail. The aim is the harmonious interplay of old and new, the interweaving of the materials of the existing building with those of the new design. Furthermore, future-proof buildings must consume less energy and resources; sustainability is a matter of course.

CBA Architekten has a particular focus on socially relevant projects such as school facilities, residential buildings, hotels and public transport buildings. Digital BIM planning and 3D modeling are essential to the process. All project phases are handled with enthusiasm, expertise and passion, from the competition to studies and execution. The partners regularly act as speakers and jury members.
