süd5 (Biel/Bienne)

süd5 is a group of architects from various offices on the square of Biel, which aims to promote affordable, high-quality and sustainable housing and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.

The team of architects was formed in 1997 on the occasion of a parallel project for a housing development on a municipal building lease plot. Joining forces instead of competing among architects was the beginning of joint work. The future residents of the urban plot chose our group for further work in a selection procedure. This first project is the origin of a successful collaboration that has lasted several years.

The strength of the süd5 team lies in the fact that in an initial project phase the project idea is developed as a team, and then in the implementation phase the specific skills of the individual offices are brought to bear.

The well-rehearsed and meanwhile experienced team, after the realization of 57 residential units in terraced and condominium construction as well as a competition success with follow-up order for a large residential development in Bern Brünnen, thrives on a motivated, solidary and friendly cooperation and the common passion for architecture.

süd5 has the ambition to successfully realize further projects in the future, be it on the basis of planning rights, on free, buildable plots, parallel projects or competitions as well as direct cooperation with general contractors or institutional investors.
